UN Global Compact

onsemi has been a signatory to the UN Global Compact since 2019, which reflects our commitment to integrate corporate social responsibility (CSR) and positive environmental impact into our company and culture. The United Nations (UN) adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that speak to a common vision of a sustainable world:

The 17 SDGs were officially rolled out in 2015 and recognize that ending poverty and fighting other inequalities must go hand-in-hand with improving health and education, spurring economic growth and tackling climate change.

Year 2030

The 2030 Agenda provided a shared blueprint, where nations, businesses, organizations, and entities large and small can contribute to peace and prosperity for people and the planet.

2022 marks the third year as a signatory to the UNGC and our commitment to the UNSDGs. This shows our commitment to making a difference in the communities we operate and live in. onsemi is focusing on five of the 17 goals: Clean Water and Sanitation, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, Responsible Consumption and Production, and Climate Action. Each of these goals is highly relevant to how we operate as a business.

We support these five goals through our policies and practices to reduce water consumption, increase waste recycling, commit to the mission and principles of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), commit to ethics and compliance, advance Diversity Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, our global philanthropy, and our net-zero 2040 goal.

Through the UN Global Compact, onsemi has outlined its progress in its UNSDG Communication on Progress (CoP) which is annually assessed to communicate progress toward the goals. The onsemi CoP is publicly accessible and provides valuable information to all signatories, our peers, and stakeholders. The SDGs are a framework that enables our organization to stay focused on meaningful and long-term impact with the knowledge and experience of the United Nations behind it. This allows onsemi to be a truly sustainable business with a positive impact that is collectively shared with all UN Global Compact participants across the globe. To date, there are more than 16,000 business participants representing nearly every industry and size in over 161 countries.

Business success relies upon doing the right thing for all our stakeholders including our employees, communities, investors, and the planet. For the latest onsemi CoP statement submitted to the UN Global Compact, click here.
